January 12-13 1996

Plot of snow totals.

Like the Alberta Clipper that occured just days before, this storm is largely forgotten and is relegated to obscurity. This was a significant storm that dropped copious amounts of snow on top of areas that received a significant accumulation from the Blizzard not even a week prior. This storm developed off of North Carolina on Friday, the 11th. By early Saturday morning, the low had passed over Cape Cod and was in the Gulf of Maine gradually deepening. By Sunday the low was over Newfoundland heading into the open Atlantic.
