January 29-30 1990

Snow total plot for the storm.

For many in N. New England, this was the largest storm of the winter of 1989/1990. The storm formed over the southeastern United States on the 29th and it quickly moved northeastward. On the 30th, the low was centered east of Boston and had deepened to 992mb. On the 31st the low quickly moved off of the Grand Banks. Had this storm produced heavy snow further south, it could possibly have been considered as a "near miss" event.
