the first storm of the winter. What was to become the Thanksgiving Day storm developed over W. Louisiana and East Texas on the 22nd. It rapidly moved northeastward throughout the day. By midnight on the 23rd, it was off of New Jersey. Snow was heavy at the onset, but was over by the time of the fabled Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. A total of 4.4 inches was recorded in Central Park. It steadily moved eastward and by noon it was south of Cape Sable, Nova Scotia. By nightfall it was near Cape Breton and intensifying into a sub 980mb Low.
